PROGRAM DETAILS - REGOS OPEN SOON
JUNIOR STARS
For children aged up to 10 years of age (Born 2015 to 2018). Rules are modified to encourage a safe and free flowing game of touch football. Players will be put into a team with a coach for the season. Sessions run for one hour (30 minutes of a skills session followed by a 30 minute friendly game against another junior stars team).

JUNIOR + STARS
For juniors aged 11 & 12 interested in improving their skills and transitioning to a full sized field for games. Sessions are run the same as Junior Stars.

YOUTH STARS
For our youth aged 13 – 17 who want to level up to our junior competition. They will play in mixed teams on a full size ground in a new junior division of the social program. Sessions will involve a 30 minute warm-up and training, followed by a 40 minute touch game against another Southern Stars mixed youth team.
TRAINING COMMENCES: Monday 15 September 2025
PROGRAM DURATION: Runs alongside our regular social competition.
TIMES: Monday 6:00pm - 7:15pm

I am excited, when do registrations open?
Registrations will open early August!
I don’t want to miss out, when do registrations close?
We would appreciate all registrations to be in by TBA. At our discretion, we may accept registrations after this date.
What are the dates of the Junior Stars and Junior + Stars Program?
Monday 15 September to Monday 15 December.
What are the dates of the Youth Stars Program?
Monday 15 September to Monday February 2026 in line with our social competition.
Do we have to register based on birth year, my child wants to play with his school friends?
Yes, registration into Junior State Champs is strictly based on birth year (not school year), so we start and run our program based on birth year to avoid having to form different teams for Junior State Champs.
When is training? (days/times etc)
Training will be held for stars Under 12 on Mondays 5:00pm - 6:00pm.
Training for 13 - 17 Youth Stars will be held Mondays 6:00 - 7:15pm.
I am really keen to get involved, how can I help as a parent?
We love volunteers (we’re all volunteers!), and there are many roles which you can put your hand up for as part of the registration process. We need coaches, team managers, year group coordinators, and more! If you are keen to assist but are not sure exactly how, please contact our Juniors coordinator Jane at juniors@southerntouchfootball.com.au. Or come and see us in the office on training nights. All parents who volunteer as coaches will be provided resources to assist with teaching basic skills and training drills.
What kind of uniform or outfit does my child need to wear?
No uniform is required, just appropriate clothing and footwear for exercise. We do recommend a football style moulded boot. Bibs will be provided to teams for the games.
Will the Junior Program include participation at Junior State Titles in November?
Touch Football Western Australia has scheduled the Junior State Championships for the weekend of 28-30 November 2025. This is a fun weekend for those wanting to represent Southern Stars and compete against other clubs. For those interested in representing Southern Stars, a nomination process will open mid September. Training will occur on Saturday or Sundays 8-9am at George Burnett Park.
Southern Stars will be sending the following teams:
U8 Mixed, U10 Mixed, U12 Girls, U12 Boys, U14 Girls, U14 Boys, Open Girls, Open Boys.
